So I took the last fewweeks off from podcasting it was just to busy over the holidays to get anything done. I have a few days off now to catch up with things and I will be back on track buy tuesday. I am still planing out the shows so I have no idea as to what I will be playing. Any way thats it for this week.

So there are a few more listeners this week then last. It looks like it will be a slow process building up a listenership. I still have not found much time to work on getting word of the show out there.  I think that this week would be a good time to take a few lines to tell you about me and why I am putting the show out.
So who am I. Well I can tell that last year this time I worked as a manager for a nationwide retail chain I had 4 weeks paid vacation, good medical/dental insurance 401k an income over the national average and I was miserable. I had been for years however last January I sold a photo of mine. The offer was out of the blue and I did not think about it much after. I did start submitting and taking more photos and in June I stopped working at kohls invested in a much better camera and some other gear. I started doing photography full time and have been building that business ever sense. That has gone well and keeps me feed and sheltered for the most part but I have in the last few months started working 3 10pm-6am shifts a week to supplement my income. It also give me some freedom to work on less profitable art projects. So we come to the part about the show. I was putting out a the happy phantom podcast when I was working for the man full time. When I started working for me I just did not have the time to get it done at first I put it out less often then not at all. I did find my self thinking about that first song to play on my short walk home after I left work. I found that the right song really gave me a chance to unwind and leave that all behind. I also missed podcasting so a few weeks ago I just started back up again. And yea  I do listen to it on my walks home work or after leaving an assignment.  
Ok so as of right now I only have shows laid out till Wednesday. Monday we have a nice tripy song from Pan. Tuesday we get two tracks form Sunburn in Cypress. I will be trying some thing new I will be playing some samples of a not so podsafe artist that I like and that you will never hear on the radio.  OK thats all I have this week.

So every week I plan to write down all of the stuff I don’t say on the show but mean to, a preview of the up coming week, as well  some random commentary. I will be posting this on the  show notes page and also putting it out on the feed as a PDF with one of my photos as well.
So first a bit about the first weeks shows. I am happy with the new format there are some minor issues but they should all work them selves out in the coming weeks. I was shocked at how few listeners there were. There are only about a 10th of what the happy phantom podcast had. I still feel the show concept is solid and will do well in time.
So onto the next weeks shows  We start the week with Alina Simone her voice is direct yet ethereal  her raw style  is a departure from some of the rich electronic based songs from last week but I really feel She fits the over all tone of the show. Tuesday we have two great ones from DJ Come of Age.  DJ COA’s podcast Soul Music of the World (djcoa.libsyn.com) is one of the inspirations for the one song format. His feed will often have a single song on it with only show notes to say what it was. Wednesday comes with one more from Alina Simone this one is a bit more up-tempo  from what i have been playing but I think thats how I will be playing Wednesdays. Thursday I will be playing a sampling of Cibelle’s self tiled CD. One of the best examples of the new music coming out of Brazil, definitely not your fathers bosanova. I end the week with a song from the exceptional  Lovespirals A very good end to the second and first full week of the Daily Chill.
Ok going forward this is where I would address feedback or email. With nothing of note coming in thats it for this week.

The Happy Phantom Podcast is taking a new direction at this time. From now on It will be know as The Daily Chill. The new show will be monday to friday with a song or two each day and a bit of info about the artist lasting 8 to 15 min. As the name implies we will be playing the more laid back genres on this show.

I would like to thank all of the artist, fans and advertisers who made the happy phantom podcast so fun for me to do. I would like to say good bye to all the fans and artist of the genres I will no longer be playing and wish you all the best of luck in your futures. (If I ever manage to find the time I would be more then happy to add a rock addition but that is not the case now.) To all of the fans and artist of music I will still be playing I look forward to your feed back and to hearing more of your great music.
